Meditation is a wonderful thing. It calms the mind and helps the spirit light up, so one’s inner voice actually reaches through all of the noisy thoughts that usually just pop up and control the daily line of thinking.
My morning meditations usually last about 15 minutes, but these can be done for whichever amount of time suits you. If my morning is very busy and I don't have 15 minutes, I simply prioritise closing my eyes and taking a few deep breaths into my lower belly area. This has a healing effect on the entire nervous system, creates connection between body and mind, as well as bringing a clear, stress-free perspective.
I’ve attended different meditation retreats over the years, from Scandinavia to Nepal. They’ve all left me feeling so cleansed on the inside. It’s funny how one of the first things many of us skip when feeling stressed are little moments of clarity, when they’re in fact the antidote to a busy and hectic lifestyle.
“Time to myself and just sitting down reflecting? No I really don’t have time to do that. There’s a million other things I should attend to instead.” Sound familiar?
